What is NAT?
Network Address Translation (NAT) is a technology that allows multiple devices on a private network to share a single public IP address. Imagine a small apartment building with multiple residents, each needing to receive mail. Instead of assigning a unique mailbox to every resident, the building uses a single mailbox and a system to distribute the mail internally. Similar to how a mailroom manages mail for numerous residents, NAT and Mobile Networks allow multiple devices to share a single public IP address. NAT works similarly, allowing numerous devices within a network to access the internet using a single public IP address.
